Educational Technology Specialist:

As an Educational Technology Specialist, my primary responsibility is instructional in nature: designing training materials and teaching adults and children a variety of educational technology applications. The following is a partial listing of responsibilities related to Non-Public schools:

  • Grant Proposal Writer and Program Facilitator. Awarded over $224,000 of SchoolNet Telecommunity monies to help fund the Multi-Cultural Story Hour project and Breaking Barriers Sweet Unity project.
  • Awarded $5,000 from the Verizon Foundation to assist The Stone Hebrew Academy in participating in the 2000 - 2001 Story Hour project.
  • Accountable for Line 426 State Subsidy Funds and Expenditures.
  • Responsible for communicating State regulations and rules associated with funds as well as maintaining an accurate account of on-going yearly fees and approved miscellaneous expenditures.
  • Organizes and Plans Non-Public Technology Meetings.
  • Provides a forum for Technology Coordinators and/or Computer Teachers to gather and share integrated technology experiences.
  • Creates Staff Email (POP) Accounts.

In addition, I have a unique opportunity to work with Community, Non-Public, and Public schools by:
  • Designing Instructional Materials. By conducting a needs analysis, training materials are tailored and customized to meet the needs of each participant.
  • Instructing Standard Desktop and Movie Editing Software Courses.
  • Classes are held at one of NWOCA's Training Centers and/or on-site for staff and students.
  • Assisting with Federal E-Rate Application Process.
  • Communicates approaching deadlines of applications and program guidelines, provides assistance with 471, 486, and 472 forms, and helps troubleshoot Program of Integrity Assurance inquiries.
  • Resource Visits.
